USHE HONORS DISTANCE Faculty for Exemplary Use of Technology
The Utah System of Higher Education’s mission with respect to distance education is to ensure that all of Utah’s citizens, regardless of geographic location or work and life commitments, can earn certificates and degrees at a distance. In support of this mission, the USHE wishes to recognize Utah’s distance learning faculty. The 2007 Utah System of Higher Education Exemplary Faculty Use of Technology Award recognizes exceptional USHE faculty members who have excelled in incorporating technology in instruction.

RFP for FY07-08
The USHE curriculum development grant program supports expansion of technology delivered course and program options, and workshops and scholarship related to distance education. The Request for Proposals (RFP) submission deadline is March 16, 2007. Notification of award decisions will be mailed April 16, 2007.
RFP Focus
The RFP invites proposals that increase Utahns’ access to higher education through technology delivered courses, and certificate or degree programs; revise existing technology delivered offerings to enhance quality or serve new audiences; or advance standards of best practice within the USHE. In addition to the general themes of distance education curriculum development, the USHE Academic Affairs staff has identified four priorities for FY0708:
Priority 1 – Develop an online certificate or degree readily available to all Utah citizens.
Priority 2 – Use technology delivered instruction to better prepare students for college success.
Priority 3 – Develop courses or a new certificate or degree program that responds to state workforce needs.
Priority 4 – Explore economies (and challenges) made possible by learning management systems.
Please read the RFP document closely for details.
